Football Final

I’m sad to say that the Jaguar’s football season has come to an end.  With a 7 to 1 winning season (our only loss was the last game) on scheduled games, and then 1 win /1 loss playoff games, the team should be very proud!

If you will indulge me for a second, I’d like to brag on Noah!  I am so proud of him.  He certainly was not the best player on the team, and, quite frankly, even at the end of the season, he still does not really understand the game.  But that baby played his heart out!  He played with such effort and determination.  Each time he walked out on the field, he put forth his best!  Being the smallest kid on the team did not seem to bother him in the least.  While the other kids would complain, give up, and even leave the field mid-game in tears, Noah never once did so!

Last Thursday night’s game was for the championship!  The opposing team’s players were massive in comparison to our kids.  And I am not kidding (The Big Boys)!  After the game (which we lost), the coach bragged on Noah, commenting on his spirit throughout the season.  He talked about how Noah was the only kid that never cried or complained and that even in that game when Noah was up against a child ridiculously bigger than he is, he took it in stride.  After several plays, rather than complaining or saying he didn’t want to play, he simply asked the coach out on the field if he could go up against #34 (a much smaller child) instead.  His coach did move him and give him a short break, if for no other reason than he was impressed with the way Noah had handled it.

Can you tell I’m beaming?  Seriously though, as I stated in an earlier post, I learned a lot about Noah and the person he is during this football season.  And I like what I see!!!
